Happy New Year + Coming Up in 2019!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!

I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to take on the new year! To me, the new year is not only an awesome fresh start, but also an exciting time because there are so many great things to look forward to! I can’t wait for you to discover more amazing A.P.E.X. speakers and musical guests this year.

Personally, I am really excited for the concerts and trips I have coming up. I will get the chance to share the stage and the road with some of my talented friends! First, the great composer and percussionist Christopher Swist will be visiting SUU this month. In February, my friend Wei Chen Lin, who is currently serving as the percussionist of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and the Italian violinist Marco Fusi will be coming to town. As for upcoming travels, I am really looking forward to going to New York with the awesome soprano Kathleen Roland-Silverstein and I will also be back in Australia in July!!

As for A.P.E.X. Events, we have put together a great program with speakers who will keep you inspired throughout the year! The Mama Dragons, a group of Utah mothers will be coming from Salt Lake to discuss how they came to understand and support their LGBTQIA children. John Carreyrou, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter at the Wall Street Journal, will be this semester’s Eccles Visiting Scholar. John Vaillant, the writer of the award-winning bestseller nonfiction book, The Tiger will be speaking at A.P.E.X. in March and Paul Zak will be talking about Building High-Trust, High-Performance Organizations at the 2019 Festival of Excellence. These are only a few of the many events to come this year and of course, they will all be followed by the A.P.E.X. Hour, our radio show which airs every Thursday at 3pm on KSUU Thunder 91.1. I will be sure to share all these great events with you in 2019!

But I’d love to know what you are looking forward to in 2019! What are your goals and aspirations this year? Whatever they are I wish you a successful 2019 and hope to see you soon at our events!

Lynn
